ABOUT ME
I’m Theodora Ellis, and I make art, both with clay and with food.
I am passionalte about creating custom food experiences that represent my multicutural culinary background and interests.
A bit about why I love ceramics: it takes complete concentration to center a piece of clay, build it into something unexpected, then choose glazes that will enhance its form. Getting to play in mud as an adult is also enjoyable.
A bit about why I love food: I’m a very tactile person, and love to experience food as color, smell, flavor, and form. I love the experience of feeding and nourishing people, and the opportunities to share with them those flavors and combinations they might never have enjoyed before. I’ve changed a lot of peoples’ minds about food they used to hate, but only just realize they’d never had it prepared well. As a person with allergies, I am especially sensitive to special dietary needs, and factor those into my food preparation, from the very first concept of each dish.
